The Mental Health Ambassadors:
The mental health ambassador group will be giving out green bandanas and pledge cards at lunch on Wednesday December 1st and December 2nd. This is used to advertise the green bandana campaign. The students will tie the bandana to their  backpack to show that no one has to struggle alone. For more information talk to Amy Kamm, Rosa Goulart, or Kyia Karvelus..

we still have some after lunch spots for the blood drive

please remember if you are donating blood on Wednesday- please get a good night sleep tonight and Tuesday- hydrate- have a breakfast on Wednesday morning, and a good dinner Tuesday night.
please bring your license if you have one

Food Drive- please help NHS and Student Council kids by bringing a box of cereal for the food drive-  we will be collecting until Dec 16th-  Please help us replenish the OPEN Door which is at a high time need to stock up-

Senior Class- will be selling Candy Cane grams in the school store for $1

DOOR DECORATING CONTEST- is back!!! we will be having four decorating contests sponsored by each class- DECEMBER  will be judged by the senior class and the gift will be provided for that class-  you can decorate during your homeroom-   we will be also having a contest in FEB sponsored by the Juniors,   March sponsored by the Sophomores and April  sponsored by the Freshmen
Drama Club
The time has come to cut loose - Footloose that is! It's time to start planning for this year's spring musical. Interested in participating in the show as an actor or on tech crew?  

Mark your calendar: 
1. the MANDATORY parent info meeting is this Thursday, December 2nd at 7:00pm. 
2. Production Team applications are due Friday, December 3rd. 
3. Auditions are next week; individual auditions by appointment Mom 12/6 through Weds 12/8, dance auditions for all Thursday 12/9, and callbacks Friday 12/10. 
4. Tech crew sign ups are ongoing through midterms.

As tomorrow the pep rally is outside.. please remind students to bundle up...
The Senior Class will be selling Cocoa outside to help keep students warm...
we are looking for some teachers to participate in the Potato Sack Race... PLEASE?????

don't forget to wear GHS Crimson and Cream..!

Please remember at the conclusion of the pep rally, you are invited to go to our annual Azorean Luncheon.... ( You are on your own to order lunch or have a social with us)  Azorean is being so nice to open early for us... so please come before you cook !  

We are in need of donors for the Blood Drive.. please help by talking it up in your classes...

Baskets- I have to bring the money today during E block to Open Door, so if anyone still has a donation.. .let me know..

Blood Drive- Please please sign up for a blood drive donor spot please email Ms. Menery or Bailey Saputo if you can - We are at a desperate need for Blood in Massachusetts- You must be 16 to do so, and if you are 16 you can grab a permission slip

Pep rally- the pep rally is on for Wednesday outside-  please dress warm!  We are trying to have some surprises so make sure you wear Gloucester School colors Crimson and cream.. faculty we want to see you there too.. we are planning a faculty potato sack race...

NHS please remember the free food locker needs your help after school.  Please email Karen Hurst if you would like to stay after
keep up the tutoring hours too!  

Senior Class- the senior class will be selling candy cane grams during lunches at the school store

Mental Health Ambassadors:
After Thanksgiving the Mental Health Ambassadors will be kicking off the green bandana campaign which promotes the message that no one needs to struggle alone by tying a green bandana on your backpack as a symbol of solidarity the pledge  and bandana will be available at lunch at lunch the week after Thanksgiving.

NHS-  TUTORING- please let your guidance counselor know if you are in need of a guidance counselor-  NHS students will help you organize your notebooks, study for a quiz or go over homework

NHS- please see GOOGLE classroom as their is an OPEN DOOR opportunity available, but you must have your Vaccination- please remember 4 visits after school to food locker erases one of your Open Door requirements
please make sure you let Ms. Hurst know if you plan on staying ahead of time

Soccer Game this Wednesday- come by and support the boys soccer team

Wednesday dress in blue to support students and staff who have Diabetes as it is Diabetic Awareness Day

Food Drive-  Last year the Open Door saw a 27% increase  for food assistance- and many people continue to recover from the impacts of the pandemic.  The Open Door distributed 2:46 million pounds of food in 2020. that's about 2.05 million meals to almost 10,000 people

The Open Door is at an extreme low for food- please consider bringing a food item to room 1213 or to the library- items most requested- peanut butter, soups, pasta, cereal, juice boxes, pancake mix,  and tuna fish

Our thanksgiving baskets are also at 28 thank you- Thanksgiving is 2 and half weeks away...! 
last year we collected for 75 families

Pep rally shirts- there are still some sophomore shirts left for sale see Ms. Finacey-  also don’t forget to sport your class by buying a Halloween gram- there are a few days left-    
Also some senior shirts left - and bandanas - both available in school store - please help us by picking up your trash too 

Nhs tutoring- as we are approaching the end of the quarter- please do not forget there are tutors available in ever subject-  contact Elaira Fariia or your Guidance councilor 
Homecoming. Semi formal-  table captains-  please ask all
Of the guests at your table if anyone is a vegetarian- and please email Ms. Menery or Ms. Cullen this information-homecoming  semi formal is in one week/ the buses will be at the main atrium entrance-please park in the students parking area  and the busses leave at 5pm sharp- there will be an area  set up to take pictures - so please plan accordingly- 
--This Thursday October 27- will be taking our annual think pink picture in the gym- please remember to wear your shirt- !!!    This week’s theme at the football game - as it is also senior night is - senior class color- which is black- please wear black or orange as it is Halloween weekend !!

THANKSGIVING BASKETS-
GHS made a record breaking contribution of over 75 Thanksgiving Baskets last year- We will be collecting for baskets- the cost is $30 which feeds a family in need an entire holiday meal-
Student Council and NHS members please remember to hand in your donation to your class treasurer thank you all- We will also be starting a food drive again, please bring any non perishable items to the library 


Seniors- Class Photo for the Yearbook is on Friday- please stay tuned for details

NHS tutoring- the tutoring program has been picking up- please let your guidance councilor or teacher know if you need a tutor, which are available most days- in all subjects

Homecoming-  Today in homeroom I hope you voted for your nominations for Homecoming King and Queen- Seniors we will be voting for our King and Queen from the top nominees in homeroom on Thursday

Thursday- there is an all homeroom meeting in the café- this is for all reps, and officers

Spirit week- Spirit week starts this Friday and continues to the following week- this Friday the theme is Western Day, Monday no school We continue Tuesday with Character day,  Wednesday - New England Sport Day,  Thursday- Decades day, and Friday Class Color Day-  Seniors are black,
Juniors are blue, sophomores are green and Freshmen are red-  staff, our school colors crimson and cream - or support your favorite class by wearing the colors
Pep Rally on Friday October 15th-  HOMECOMING at half time
Theme for the football game is THINK PINK

The think pink annual picture will be OCT 27th- please pay for your shirts if you have not done so

NHS- tutoring is underway- please let us know if you need a tutor- we have tutors for all subjects

ITALIAN CLUB- tutoring is in room 1213 today

SEMI FORMAL TICKETS on sale during lunches- cost is $64- we will be selling tickets for the next two weeks-  semi is around the corner November 1 at Diburros- 

Clean up- please help us keep GHS clean- during lunches!

There will be a mandatory NHS meeting on Monday afterschool in room 1213- this is mandatory- please bring your community service sheets as we are at the half way point

Semiformal - The Semiformal is a month away-  Nov 1 at Diburro's- please pay for your ticket and bus- the cost is $64 per person- but all of your dues must be paid as well-  remember your sophomore spring dance ticket was credited if you bought any- to either dues or your next ticket - stop by room 1213 to purchase- but next week during lunches tickets will be on sale


Thanksgiving Food Drive and Holiday Baskets-  We will be starting our annual food drive and annual baskets for the month of October please bring any food items to room 1213 or there will be a drop off table in the library
we will also start collecting to arrange a Thanksgiving Meal for a family in need- we need to beat our record from last year of  71 baskets!  GHS helped 71 families in need last year

Think Pink and Senior Shirts- please have the money as the shirts are coming in the next few days- drop off the cash to Ms Menery thanks-  we will be wearing Pink at the next football game as well Oct 15th to support Breast Cancer Awareness -  Our Annual photo will be Oct 22nd Friday

Spirit Week- Stay tuned - we will be announcing the spirit week themes- this will start October 

1-10 of 1281
