 Freshmen class will be selling St Patrick Day goodies during homeroom- please order one from the freshmen class student council


Junior Class-  The Junior Class Student Council is selling Cookie dough- Student Council members please collect all of your money and try to reach your goal by next week as we will be sending in the order on March 11

NHS applications are due soon- please have your forms finished and turned in by the deadline to Ms. Cafasso- please help by turning your applications in early

Current NHS members- please see the NHS google classroom for some ideas for more community service hours- there will also be a survey to please fill out so we can give a report of our hours during the induction on March 25th-  all NHS members must be in attendance

Door decorations- contest is underway don't forget to decorate both sides or you will only get one prize-  

NHS tutoring today in room 1213 for Italian and any subject- please come by if you need help to study, organize, or go over homework- the NHS students really need to finish their hours.

there is a remote tutor available for Monday and Friday for engineering and math-   

seniors-  today is the last day to order a cap and gown !! 

 

Door decorating -  March is on- please decorate your doors for the theme of march- some ideas: st patrick's day- march madness- women's history month-  first day of spring-the ides of March- 

March 8th International women's day-  Daylight savings day-   spring equinox - Passover 

the doors will be judged at the end of March by the Sophomore Student Council 

NHS applicants- If you have a received an NHS application please know you must hand in the applications by Wednesday March 8th- please know you can hand them in before the due date-

double check you have signatures and all requirements before handing them in- if you need a printed copy please see Ms.Menery-

these students need tutoring hours as we are approaching the due date for the hours so please if you need to stay - come to room 1213 as there will be tutors there for you    

The Gloucester Biotech is now accepting applications for the class of 2022. Earn a certificate as a biotechnology technician in 9 months.

The first 6 months are lab based hands on instruction with high teacher to student ratios for personalized instruction. SAGA:  Sexuality and Gender Acceptance has joined with Nagly (North Shore Alliance for Gay and Lesbian Youth) and will start in person meetings every Wednesday at 3 starting next week on March 10th at the YOUinty Drop in Center at 6 Elm Street in downtown Gloucester. The Gloucester High School Class of 2023 student council is starting a fundraiser partnered with Angel Bin. If anyone has gently used shoes please drop them off at either room 2303  or room 3220.iberostar  

Hats for the homeless: help out our local homeless shelter by bringing any gently used hats, scarfs, gloves , socks or money donations to the Atrium or to Olivia Hogan –Lopez.

From the Art Classes- Please check out the 1st floor exhibitions from Mrs. Cerrutti's first semester classes-  The students worked hard on these paintings and it makes our hallway look so nice- thank you to Mrs. Cerrutti and her classes


NHS- This is a very important notice for JUNIORS or SENIORS who may be eligible for applying to NHS this year- There will be emails sent this week to any student who qualifies- PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAILS- the application will be in the email- if you need a printed copy please see Ms. Menery or Ms. Cafasso-  The applications will be due on March 8th at 2pm to Ms. Cafasso no exceptions-  

NHS members please know that the hours are due soon as you have had almost a year to fulfill your requirements- do not forget the Free Locker is now a substitute for you Open Door hours-  Please email Ryan B if you are available to tutor this week or next week

Door Decorating- Tomorrow the February contest ends- many of you have decorated so please make sure your doors are open tomorrow during F block for the Junior Student Council kids to judge-  The March Contest starts on Thursday-

Door decorating-  The February door decorating contest will be judge this week on Feb 24th during homeroom by the Junior Class Student Council- please make sure you have your door open so we can see both sides-  the winner will receive two bags of candy for each homeroom-  

March door decorating starts after Feb 24th and will be judged by the Sophomore class

let's keep up this new tradition as it makes the school fun and inviting 

Special shout out to Mia Salah and Andrew Coelho for receiving the Moynihan Lumber student athlete award this month- great job by two great students and athletes 

NHS- NHS students are in need of students to tutor as their hours are due soon- please ask you guidance counselor for help on this-  students are available for all subjects in person and remotely

NHS students please email Ryan Bergin if you can stay this week so we can also put the subject and student on these announcements  

Student Council and NHS- thank you for starting secret pal week- we want to make teachers and staff feel the appreciation- by showing them some random acts of kindness and some tlc

 * Door Decorating contest-  There is a February door decorating contest for the month of February- Prizes to each homeroom will be donated by the Junior Class Student Council-  rules:  you can decorate the walls around the door, both sides of the door, or one side of the door - but both homerooms must help-  contest ends Feb 24th  

 * Health Center:   As you’ve seen in your emails, if you order from the Free Food Locker Form by Thursday, you can have groceries in time for February vacation. Check out the latest food list to make your choices!

 *  This announcement is for students interested in taking the SAT's in the spring. We will be administering the SAT during the school day this year on April 27. To register please fill out the SAT school day registration form. Payments should be made by check payable to Gloucester Public Schools and and can be brought to Mrs. Mondello in guidance. 

* Join the GHS Theatre program for our first pandemic play: The Radio Play Disaster by Don Zolidis. The show will be streaming online THIS WEEK from Thurs. Feb 11th through Sat. Feb 13th. Unlimited on-demand viewing is only $10 through Broadway OnDemand! Scan the QR Code on the posters for more information. 

* Getcha head in the game! Auditions for this year's spring musical, Disney's High School Musical, are happening after we come back from February break, Monday through Wednesday. Email Ms. Kirk (jkirk@gloucesterschools.com) for more information on how to sign up to audition and what to prepare. 

 * Valentine's carnations... Today is the last day to get a valentine gift to send to your sweetie, teacher or even yourself- don't forget we have a new item - $5 a teddy bear with candy-

 * Valentine's will be delivered tomorrow and Thursday / thank you to all who have already bought one

 - Check your emails from the Free Food Locker to get the latest food menu available. You can plan ahead and order food before vacation. Feel free to stop into the Health Center to ask questions of place an in person order.

REGIONAL YOUTH NETWORK:   We are looking for GHS students to join our Regional Youth Coalition. Meetings will be held twice a month on Tuesdays from 4-6 on Zoom. The goal is to work on a project that will benefit you and your peers in the region ( Manchester/Essex, Beverly, Ipswich, Danvers).
