GHS Boys Lacrosse – There is a mandatory meeting for all boys lacrosse players today at 2:10 in Room 3213.

GHS Wrestling – Due to a generous donation, the wrestling team will purchase a brand new wrestling mat for next year. If you are interested in creating a design and logo for the new mat surface, please see the principal, Mr. Anderson for more information.

Girls Travel Hockey 2014/2015 – Cape Ann Youth Hockey will be offering Girls Travel Teams at the U16, U14, U12, and U10 levels. For all girls interested in learning about the 2014-2015 hockey season, Cape Ann Youth Hockey is hosting a free Open House Clinic at Talbot Rink in Gloucester, Saturday, April 12th from 4:00 – 5:00 PM. If interested, get more info in the principal’s office. U.S. Olympic Women’s hockey and Harvard Coach Katey Stone will be on-ice for the open house clinic on Saturday, April 12th at 4:00 PM.

GFAA – Students – If you are interested in helping to maintain the website for the Gloucester Fishermen Athletic Association, please see the principal, Mr. Anderson for more information.

GSA – Next Wednesday, April 16th the Gay/Straight Alliance is inviting you to join them to participate in the Natural Day of Silence, an initiative that brings attention to anti-LGBT bullying and harassment in schools. If interested in participating please stop by Amy Kamm’s office, Room 1208.

DECA – Come to the DECA store to get your new tumblers. Just $6.00 or 2 for $10.00 while supplies last.

Gloucester U – Please make sure to turn in all Gloucester U permission slips this week or come and see Ms. Whitney if you have questions.

From Guidance – College Fair – Permission slips for the National College Fair field trip on May 1st and the May 29th College Fair at Merrimack College are available in the guidance office. Permission slips must be returned by Friday, April 25th, space is limited.

Talent Show – Again tonight, doors open at 6:00 PM, tickets are $5.00. Come hear some of your favorite students sing and dance!



New ScholarshipsThe Rockport Music Scholarship is now available. Applications are in the main office; this scholarship offers $1,000 to a student who has been accepted with plans to attend an accredited college, university or conservatory with a major or minor course of study to include music.

The Pieter Smit Memorial Scholarship is also available. Applications are in the main office; this scholarship offers $3000 per year for four years to any accredited institution of higher education.

Senior Sweatshirts – Attention Seniors, orders are now being taken for senior sweatshirts, during the lunch blocks at the senior snack shop. The shirts will contain the name of every senior. The cost is $35.00 each and they come in sizes small thru 3XL. If you pay by check, please make it payable to “GHS Class of 2014”. Shirts will be on sale until the end of the day, Wednesday, April 16th.

Interact – The Interact Club is hosting a Jalepeno’s Night next Monday, 4:30 PM until closing, to support Relay for Life. Please come in for dinner or takeout.
